We are involved in and
We Support Conservation
As Professional Hunters, we promote and directly fund worthy conservation projects.
Umdende supports important projects and organisations invested in Conservation and Education. We all have to ensure that nature will be around for future generations to enjoy and also to recognize the importance of wildlife and wilderness for humans and other species alike. The conflict between hunters and anti-hunters is a huge threat to our wildlife and industry. It is proven in many countries that the impact hunting has on sustaining wildlife is highly beneficial to all involved, most importantly the long-term survival and balance of all species.
In a civilized and cultivated country wild animals only continue to exist at all when preserved by sportsmen. the excellent people who protest against all hunting, and consider sportsmen as enemies of wild life, are ignorant of the fact that in reality the genuine sportsman is by all odds the most important factor in keeping the larger and more valuable wild creatures from total extermination.
– Theodore Roosevelt
How Umdende Helps Conservation
Umdende Hunting Safaris implies a $15 Conservation Levy per person per bird hunting day and/or per animal shot, these funds are donated to the PHASA Conservation and Empowerment Fund, Hunters Care which helps thousands of underprivileged communities through donations and education! See link below for more information.
How Can You Help
Conservation can be done in many ways, from donating funds to legitimate Organisations that focus on anti-poaching, wildlife education and community upliftment, to giving the local communities within the hunting areas meat from your hunts. In this way the need to poach and feed families is curbed while at the same time being educated on the importance of sustaining wildlife and habitats for the long term. Get involved with your local Hunting Chapters and gather much needed necessities such as clothing, school stationary, toys, blankets etc and distribute this during your hunt.
